Question

Puppies
Hi there,

We recently got two male puppies that are about 9 weeks old. We were told that they are great dane/coon hound/bull dog mix.

I'm wondering if you could give me any insight as to your thoughts and whether or not you think they are what we are told. Also, any ideas about size as an adult?

Answer
Hi Leaha

I can't see any of those breeds in the pups at this age. I would think by the shape of their heads and ears that would be Lab, the white blaze down their forehead and the longer muzzle is a Pit trait.  I can't see much of their body type so that's anyone's guess.  Of course this is just my opinion based on the one photo so it may not be accurate.

What you can do is send a swab in and do a DNA test, their tests are 99% accurate and is relatively inexpensive.  If your vet doesn't have lab that will do it, Health Gene in Toronto Canada does.

Good luck
