jack russell overdue

hi my jack russell is on day 65 gestation.she's acting so strangely but stil no signs of pups.she's stayin in her box a lot and nesting but there's nothing happening.is it normal for her to go overdue?this is her first litter.the puppies are very active you can c them but im bit worried.she concieved on the 25/2/08.just need to make sure she's ok.please help!

The thing with counting the days is this.  You have to know for certain when the eggs where fertilized.   Eggs need 7 days to mature and sperm can live for 5 days.   Did you breed her only the one day or over a course of a week? And if it was only once, was that the day of ovulation?

63 days is gestation of a pup but from the time the egg is fertilized.  Not necessarily when you did the breeding. So you can be off 7 days without worry.  

So my advise is to sit back, get a good book and a nice cup of tea and do what fathers have been doing for centuries.... start pacing the floor.
