Question
QUESTION: hello, i have a female daushund and she is now in heat (i think).. my male daushund was trying to get her 2 days before she started bleeding.. she barley started bleeding yesterday but hes not trying to get her as much? do you know whats going on?

ANSWER: Hi Josh

It's the scent she's giving off.

If you plan on doing a breeding together, it's best to separate them until breeding day(s).  Otherwise they will both become frustrated.  The male because she won't stand for him, and the female, because he won't leave her alone.

Good luck

QUESTION: well im lost becuase she bled very little the day before yesterday, and now her thingy is all bbig like swalloen, but no blood and both male doxins ddont do anything to her, so idk if her heat is over or what? but she barley bleed 2-3 days ago, and since then they been together.. what should i do?

Answer
It could be that you may not have noticed because she keeps herself clean.  You didn't mention how old she is.  That can effect the amount she bleeds.  Some female in their first heat will only bleed marginally.

What you can do is have her progesterone levels tests, simple blood work that your vet can perform.
