Pregnant Boston Terrier - Temperature

Question
Hello,

My Boston Terrier is pregnant and she is due on the 12th of February (she tied the first time on Dec 15th).  I started taking her temperature at 10am and 9pm on Friday, February 4th.  When I first starting recording her temp, it varied between 101.2 - 101.7.  On Sunday, February 6th, it dropped down to 98.6 and has remained less then 99 degrees.  I have been reading on sites that it will drop down to 97 degrees? What is your opinion?  Do you think she'll go any time soon?  I've been worries about leaving her as I'm scared that she'll go into labor while I'm gone.  She isn't turning away from food, water, etc.  She still eats everything in sight..lol.  She isn't panting, breathing hard, etc.  She is somewhat restless bc she is huge!  She can't seem to get comfortable.  Please let me know what you think.  Thank you!

Answer
Hi April

How many days was she bred over?  What day in her season was she? And is this her first litter?

Personally, I don't count on the temperature reading because everything can change a female's temperature from lying in the sun to drinking water.    And if you spend all your time trying to figure out what she's going to hit next, it can make you crazy.

If she was bred starting the 15th and say bred for 5 days, I would split the difference right down the middle.

Has she discharged her mucus plug yet?
