cutting cockapoos hair

I am looking to start cutting my cockapoos hair instead of having to bring her to the groomer... do you have any suggestions as to what brand/type of clipper to buy?? And what size of combs I will need?

get a book or a video. Plenty available online and in catalogues. Depends on how short you want the hair to be. What pattern you choose. A puppy cut is done with a plastic Body-Blade that snaps on to a hard blade- #15, 30, 40.
You have to prep the hair for the blade to go through it. Blades won't cut through mats unless it's to shave the coat down. Brushing and combing are as important as clipping. A cockapoo is a high maintenance dog for hair cuts so I can understand why you want to but can you, is the honest question. Takes practice and and frequent workouts. Monthly at least, biweekly preferably.
