how do i know when my shih tzu is finished delivering?
how do i know if there isn't another puppy still inside her? what symptoms should i look for that would indicate there is on still in her?

Hi Cindy, I always do and recommend x-rays, that takes the guess work right out.

If you're not sure, I would ask your vet for oxytocin.  It is injectable Sub Q (under the skin) and it cleans out her uterus.  

Do you have placenta's do go with each pup?  It's not just pups that are retained by placenta's can cause infection too.  You can massage her stomach and make her walk around a bit.

For the next few days it's okay for her to discharge bloody clots.  As long as there is no "rotten" odor.  Keep an eye out for her appetite, her milk is good and she's drinking lots.
