sire selection

Question
would like to breed my miniature poodle bitch, she is 1year old,about 15" tall. What breed of stud dog, easy birthing, thinking of a Pom or?????

Hi Rolly

The choice is up to you.  Do you want to keep the poodle lines alive a well, or do you want to breed cross-bred dogs?  What do you want to breed for?  Temperament, size, etc?  The attributes that you want to promote in your lines should reflect your market and your beliefs.  Is your female a good family dog?  Does she hate kids? Is she yappy?  All those thing come into play as the off-springs will carry her traits as well as the male you do choose.

Most people want Poodles because they don't tend to shed as much.  Pom shed.  

Just keep in mind, that any thing to large and it can be a problem.  You want to keep the male within a few pounds of your female and within a few inches in height.
