is it comman for a cho. lab on first heat to get the runs

Hi Gerald.  Soft stool can be a symptom of the heat cycle, however; runny stools can be a symptom of other issues.  Keep an eye on her and contact your veterinarian in case of the following:  Vomiting, temperature higher than 103, loss of appetite, lack of energy, or diarrhea for longer than 3 days.

In the meantime, be sure that she drinks plenty of water to prevent dehydration.
