hi  i have a male 3 year old shizu/poodle cross, and he pickes and chews at himself alot and i use flea treatmentrs but they always come back and he has alot of thinning fur on his lower back , he was eating a speacial hypo alergenic food but it didnt work i need to know how to get his fur growing in again

Sorry to hear you are having problems with fleas. All areas of the country are having the same problem. Frontline-Plus is working for some fleas but not all. It almost seems like the fleas are learning to deal with the chemicals. Becoming immune so to speak.
Your dog is chewing so much that he is damaging the hair follicles. Some hair may return in the spots but not all will come back.
I always compare a flea bite to a mosquitoes. The bug might be gone but the itch stays along time. Ask your vet about giving an antihistamine. It helps some with the itching.
Bath your dog in Oatmeal shampoo and let set for 10-15 min.
The dog also may need a steriod injection which helps also.
