Question
I am about to purchase a poodle from a breeder (they are not vet checked). The mother is silver and the father is white(both have black eyes and black pointers). One of the 3 pups is cream with amber eyes and a brownish nose.Is this ok? Just looking for a house pet, not looking to breed.Thank you.

Answer
Hello Carolyn,
You frequently see Cream or Apricot puppies with brown noses and sometimes with green eyes.  While show people will shun these puppies, they make great pets.  Cream puppies often come from a Silver/White litter.

Just to be on the safe side, I would take the puppy to the Vet for a vet check before you commit to anything.  You never know how a puppy is health wise just by looking at it.  The breeders should give some kind of Health Guarntee if they are quality breeders.  Even if you just want a pet, you want a pet that will live a long healthy life.

I hope this helps you some.  If you have other questions for me, please feel free to ask.
