Cough Medicine

Question
I had some cough medicine pills and I think my dog ate the second pill in the 2 pill package. Is this harmful for him? Should I take him in to see the vet?

Hello Carrie,
If your dog ate just one pill, I would observe him for a couple days to see that nothing goes wrong with him.  
Chances are that he will have no adverse affects from these pills.  Do make sure that he can't reach anything else, as there are medications that could seriously harm him.  
You might also call your Vet and just ask him if he thinks your dog will be ok, but he will most likely tell you to watch him and see if he has any reaction.  

Make sure your dog is eating good, having normal Bowel Movements and clear urine, and that he is still active and not lathargic.
