QuestionIs it true teacup poodles must weigh at least 2 pounds before they can have the 2nd round of shots (Vac.)? I have a female 9 wks. and she weighs 1.2 pounds.

AnswerThere is no such thing as a "teacup" poodle. They are toy poodles even if they are very small. Teacup is a marketing gimmick used by unscrupulous or unknowledgeable breeders just to get more money out of people. 1.2 lbs at 9 weeks is pretty good sized for a toy poodle puppy. Your puppy depending upon how it grows in the next little bit will probably be closer to 5-6 lbs. No a poodle or any dog for that matter, does NOT have to be 2 lbs to have its shots. A dog regardless of size gets the same amount of serum per shot. 1 ML/CC
