Question
my poodle at least once a week poops on himself.  It sticks to him and when he comes in the house and we don't see it he gets it all over.  why is this happening? It is kind of like he is constipated.

Answer
Hello Sharon,
I would first suggest shaving the backside of your poodle close so that the feces doesn't have anywhere to cling to.  You might also shave down the legs some or wherever the poop tends to stick.

Make sure your dog is getting enough water if it seems that he is producing firm stools.  You might add some canned food to his diet, or some veggies.  Alot of dogs like carrots, and I like to blend up spinach in chicken broth or with a can of sardines in olive oil and add that to the food.  The sardines add fish oil to your dogs diet that is high in Omega 3 fatty acids, and the spinach has Vitamin C, A and K.  The olive oil is good for the skin and coat and will help the feces move through and out of the intestine better.

Give this a try and I bet your dog will love it, and you will also.

I hope this helps you some.  If you have other questions, please feel free to ask.
