Two poodles in the house.

Question
We have a 2 and a half year old poodle , since birth, and we just rescued a female poodle, same breed, who may be two years old from shelter.
Our older poodle is steering away from new dog. No fighting, or problems from either, but our older is shying away. Is that normal , and will it improve? Both are females.
Dont want older to always be skiddish. Will she relax eventurally, or will she always stay away from other poodle?

Answer
2 females is the combination most likely to cause trouble.  The current stand off may not improve much.  Many dogs may enjoy visitors, but don't take to sharing their people and house with another dog.  If both are spayed, they are more likely to at least tolerate each other.  In time the first dog may become more tolerant.  Continue to shower affection and attention on her.

I am glad you choose to rescue the second dog.  I do hope it works out well.  We have so many dogs being slaughtered for lack of homes.

Post back with any more questions, and I will do my best to answer them.
