my dogs hair was black..then one day after he was groomed (shaved really low)his hair grew back gray in many spots,what happened?

Hello Vanessa,
You didn't say how old your dog is, but I assume that he might be a Silver or Blue color rather than a Black.  When a Silver or Blue Poodle is born, they are solid black, but as they age they start to turn their true color.  If your dog is a Blue or Silver, when they get shaved, their hair will start to grow in in a lighter color.  If you would like to send me a Before/After picture of your dog, I will have a better idea of what you are talking about.  Sometimes skin damage or scars can cause your dogs hair to grow in a different color, as can some medications, but it sounds to me like your dog may just be a different color than black and is starting to change his color.
