Question
how big does a poodle mix get???

Answer
Hello Nicole,
This answer can be as different as there are breeds of dogs out there.  The size of a Poodle mix depends on what the Poodle is mixed with and what size Poodle you use.

There are 3 sizes of Poodles; The Toy Poodle is the smallest standing at 10" at the shoulder or under and weighing around 5lb-10lbs, the Miniature Poodle is the in-between size standing from 10"-15" at the shoulder and weighing around 20lbs-30lbs, and the Standard Poodle, standing from 15" and up (there is no limit on how tall a Standard Poodle can be as long as its over 15") and weighing around 45lbs-80lbs or more.

Depending on what you breed your Poodle to, your Poodle mix can be of any size and will also get diffenent hair types, sometimes within the same litter.  For instance, if you breed your Poodle to a Golden Retriever (making GoldenDoodles), you may get some puppies that are smaller (45 lbs and maybe 22"at the shoulder) and that have less curly hair that sheds; then you may get some that are taller and leaner and that have really curly hair that doesn't shed much.

With mixed breed dogs, you never know what you are going to get (that is sometimes the fun part) and just because you may know the parents of the puppies, that doesn't necessarily mean that the puppies will look like one parent or the other.  Sometimes they can look different altogether.

If you know what breed your Poodle is mixed with and what size your Poodle is (Toy, Miniature, or Standard) I may be able to give you my idea of what size I think your Poodle mix will be.

I hope this helps you some.  If you already have the dog and have pictures of it, you can send them to me at Topkdog@webtv.net
