Question
I have a Yorkie-Poo and she is four weeks old, my question is, is it to early for her to be away from her mother? And the second is what all should i do to nurture her?

Answer
Hello Dyamond,
It is early for her to be away from her mother, but at 4 weeks she should be getting teeth in and most females will be ready to stop them from nursing anyway.
You will want to use some kind of puppy food, such as Iams Puppy, Science Diet Puppy etc.  Put it in a small bowl and add water until the mixture is runny.  To get her to eat it, dunk her nose in it a bit and she will lick her nose then start lapping out of the bowl.

The only other thing that you might want to do as she gets a bit older is to socialize her around 6-7 weeks old.  Puppies go through what is called the "Fear Stage" around 7 weeks of age and things that they aren't exposed to can cause them to be fearful of the rest of their life.  Get her out to the Pet Store, around people and other animals so that she won't be afraid of these things.
You also need to expose her to things like having her feet handled, looking in her mouth, ears and her whole body.  Lay her in your lap on her back and go over her body.  Praise her when she is good and make her hold still when she moves.

If you would like other suggestions or have other questions for me about her, please feel free to ask me.
