QuestionHi Kim-
I'll soon be retiring and am planning to get a poodle. Although I prefer the characteristics of the standard, I would like a bit smaller dog - easier to handle, needs less room for exercise, etc. Is it possible to get a small standard poodle, or perhaps a miniature/standard mix? What is your opinion/advice on this.
Thanks,
John
AnswerHello John,
A Miniature Poodle may be just what you ordered. They range in size from 11"-to 15" at the shoulder and typically take on the characterists of the Standard Poodle. Type in "Miniature Poodles in (your Area)" in your search engine to pull up info on Miniature Poodle Breeders in your area. Check them over to see if they have what you might be looking for. Slightly larger Minis (around 14" or so), a more quiet disposition, and friendly.
The breeders can let you know if they have dogs like that that fit your criteria.
I hope this helps you some. If you have other questions for me, please feel free to ask.
