My poodle has a never ending rash

Question
My poodle is 9 months.  Ive had her about 7 months.  She gets these itchy red spots on the lower half of her body.  Once the vet gave her antibiotics because it got so bad.  He said she has allergies.  He also gave her an allergy shot which temporarily worked but the rash soon returned.  I know she at time is very uncomfortable.  What can I do to make her comfortable and better.  Thanks

Answer
Hi Isabel :-)

I am sorry your little girl is going through a rough time at the moment. I hope things improve for her soon.

In regard to allergies, you need to find what your Dog is allergic to so she can avoid this and it will improve her reaction to the triggers. If the rash if caused by allergies...which is sounds highly possible, then finding the trigger and keeping your Dog away from the trigger or removing it permantely from your house and you will notice a dramatic improvement in your Dogs general well being and reaction to Allergies.

I am not 100% certain if Vets perform Allergy tests. You will need to ask the Vet about this.

But most Allergies are triggered by Dust, Shampoos, Deoderants and perfumed products just like us Humans. Also some Dogs have Allergies caused by their Food.

Meanwhile, bathe your Dog regularly in non-perfumed Shampoo and visit your Pharmacist and purchase some Sudocrem Cream which you apply 2/3 times a day to the affected area. Also purchase some Oilatum Soap and use this to wash your Dogs tummy area daily and see if you notice a improvement.

Take care & all the best & please rate me & leave me a comment.
