Question
I have a poodle she is a year old she has already gone into heat she is finished,my question is how long between the cycle of bleeding,is it every month or later.

Answer
Hello Priscilla,
Most dogs will come into heat twice a year or once every 6 months or so, give or take a month.  Females usually will have their first heat around 9 months to a year, so your female is right on schedule.
Some females will skip a heat or come into heat a bit late or early, so the 6 month rule isn't set in stone.  Watch for bleeding as a first sign that your female is coming into heat.  Females will bleed for about 3 weeks and 9-11 days after you first see blood, she will be ready to breed (in Standing Heat).  The female will stay in Standing Heat for about 6-7 days or so before going out of heat.

I hope this answers your question.  If you have other questions for me, please feel free to ask.
