Question
I have a toy poodle who had 2 puppies. I'd like to know what is the best type of food she need's to be eating to make sure she is developing plenty of milk for nursing her babies.

Answer
Hello Julie,
As long as the food is a premium food and has real meat as a near the first ingredient, it should be ok for your nursing mother.  Some good brands are Eukanuba, Iams, Sensible Choice, Nutro Max, or Bil Jac to name a few.

You can also give her cottage cheese and/or things like fish (left over salmon, tuna in Olive Oil, sardines) raw chicken wings (raw is good, not cooked because the bones are soft in raw wings).
Be sure that she is drinking good also because they need the liquid to produce the milk.

I hope this helps you some.  If you have other questions for me, please feel free to ask.
