Question
Our poodle will be a year old in about 2 weeks. We have noticed that the top part of her nose is getting 'lighter' in color. Appears to be pink / or just 'lighter in color.' Sides and front part of her nose is still 'black' - not jet black like our first 2 poodles, both males, 1 white and 1 black both lived 14 years but their noses never changed color. Thanks.

Answer
Hello Paul,
The reason that your Apricot Poodles nose is turning a lighter shade is that the Apricot color is a fading gene, therefore the skin and hair will gradually lighten.  Your Black and White dogs didn't loose color on their noses because both the Black and True White colors posess black eye rims, noses and lips.  In a white or colored dog with a fading gene (Apricot, Brown, Cafe Au Latte, or Cream colored dogs) , the lips, eye rims and nose can be liver colored.

I hope this helps you some, and has answered your question.  If you have other questions about this or other Poodle questions in general, please feel free to ask me.
