toy poodles sicknessess

what would cause a healthy toy poodle to start gaging and coughing then die? he was 10 years old.also,what would cause a 4 month toy poodle to vomit about 6 times or more in a day,i was told to give it colloidal silver and nutri cal. PLEASE HELP

Any number of things could have caused the death of the 10 year old.  Was it on heart worm medicine?  if not, that could be it.  

As for the vomiting, was it a vet that suggested the colloidal silver?  In most cases it is a mistake to give a dog anything not prescribed by a vet.
