Question
My poodle has the same seizures, in the same manner as Kaitlyn.  The only only difference is my poodle sleeps on my bed, and when they comes she falls to the floor get stiff and start moving her 2 front back and forth, foaming from the mouth making funny breathing sounds with a dazed look in her eyes.  I respond to her seizures as soon as they happen by holding her, rubbing her and talking to her and calling her name.  When it over she walks a little wobbly, she want's to be held and then a few minutes later she goes back to her normal self.  She have had 3 occurrences that I know about since I had her.  She had the 1st. this past Sunday that was big and scared me half to death because I thought my dog was dying.  She gotten through that one, on today she had 2, they were 3 hours apart, but they only happens after she has been sleeping.  Please tell me, if theres anything I can do to make this situation better.  It would hurt my deeply if I lose my puppy, she's considered a member of the family and  she's like a baby to us.  And she's 3 years old.

Answer
Hello Geneva,
While there is nothing you can do physically to help your dog when she is having a seizure, you can talk to her and just your being with her can help also.
Also, write down the date and time she has a seizure and how long they last.  This will give you a diary and you can let your Vet know how often they occur and how long they last.

If your dog has frequent seizures, your Vet can prescribe Pheno Barbatol to help, but I have heard that unless your dogs seizures are around once a week or more that the PB is hard on the dog.

Let your Vet know that you are going to keep a diary on your dogs seizures and see what he says from there.

I hope your dog is feeling better and if you have other questions for me, please feel free to ask.
