Question
Hi Kim,
I have a brown color toy poodle, she is 11 months now. Few months ago, her brown color started to fade. I am so worried now, she looks so ugly now. Is she lacking of some kinds of vitamin? Should I get her some vitamin pills? What vitamins she has been lacking for? Any recommendation ? Thank you. Hope to hear from you soon.

Answer
Hello Scream,
I know how you feel, but I think that you aren't going to like what I have to say.  It would depend on what your dog has in her background, but sounds like her color is fading because she is brown.
Brown is made up from a fading gene, the fading gene dilutes the Black coloring and White is added and you get the Brown color.   Because the White is a fading color and there is a fading gene in the Black dog, you get fading in the Brown color.
Sounds like your dog is fading naturally because of what is in her background, not because of a missing vitamin.

You can shampoo her with a bronze or brown highlighting shampoo to help bring out the brown in her hair, and you can use a Conditioning spray (I get a spray from Sally's Beauty supply store that works great) which will help make her hair look darker.
You might also feed her some fish oil or feed her a Sardine (in Olive Oil) every other day to help add some oil to her hair and skin.  This will help her shine and keep her hair darker.

I hope this has helped you some.  If you have other questions for me, please feel free to ask.
