looking for large healthy standard poodle pup

Question
Hi there. I live in southern California and am looking for an extra large healthy male standard poodle pup out of champion bloodlines. Might you know of any breeders that specialize in larger poodles,  like 28 or 29 inches that still maintain the beautiful grace of a smaller poodle. When I look at the poodle pedigrees I cannot see the height measurement of the family lines. Thanks so much

Answer
Hello Cassia,
I don't know of any Breeders off hand in the CA area, but when I am looking for a dog in a specific state, and want a specific color or size, I check this website: http://www.poodlesonline.com/  Its called Poodles Online and it has different breeders listed, their state, and even the colors of Poodles they raise.
You can even type into your search engine;  "Standard Poodles in (your City) California. and see what it pulls up.  You might also try the American Kennel Club at http://www.akc.org and go to the Breeder Referal page.

I do know that for awhile the judges tended to lean toward a smaller Poodle with refined points etc, so it may be difficult to find a top quality Standard Poodle breeder that has larger Poodles.  Contact the Breeders and let them know what you are looking for.  They should be able to point you in the right direction.  You may also check with local Groomers or Vets in your area as they see the dog clients on a more routine basis and may be able to get you in touch with the people that have what you are looking for.

I hope this helps you some.  If you have other questions for me, please feel free to ask.

Thanks for using AllExperts.com,
