QuestionQUESTION: My little poodle is about 5 yrs. old. She has been having large loose stools and diarrhea for the last day or so. I wondered what would be good to try at home before a trip to the vet. It seems as if pumpkin, plain rice, or plain chicken have been suggested. What about a small does of immodium or the like(she's ab. 10 lbs.)Thanks!
ANSWER: Hello Diane,
Actually, the "Pink Stuff" works good for dogs. You can also give them Kaopectate. I would give her a teaspoon of medicine and see if it helps her any.
Oatmeal will help also, give the plain and put it in her food.
I hope this helps you some. If you have other questions, please feel free to ask.

QUESTION: Your Pepto suggestion worked perfectly. Now,I wonder if you can tell me the initials of the govt.agency that monitors dog food, or a site to check the one I'm using. It's from the grocery store, but the label suggests a quality product. The brand is Brandon Farms and it's "guaranteed" by Blue Seal. I like both the dry and canned product but want to be sure it is all that it claims to be. There is lots of disturbing info about dog foods even after the scare awhile back. Thanks,Diane G.
AnswerHere are a couple that I pulled up:
http://BlueBuff.com
http://www.Iams.com/Product-comparison
http://www.dogfoodproject.com/index.php?page=main

Try some of these, they are pretty good from what I saw of them.

Kim
