so i have bred yorkies for quite some time getting into poodles i thought "how different can it be" i  am finding out quite a bit i have a 6 and a half pound toy girl who is right at the point she could go anytime... this is her first litter so i am a little more "alert" than usual this morning after going to the bathroom i noticed a bit of mucas coming from that area a clear jelly like liquid coupled with her acting a little uncomfortable and digging a little here and there i thought ok here we go i got everything together "birthing supplies" towels suction device etc and nothing lol she is acting fine there has been no pushing puppies are moving in mamas belly i just really thought she was going in she was very swollen back there as if dilated and still nothing is this just preliminary and its probably going to be a long night or do i just worry to much thanks!

Hello Mike,
You can be a little concerned as this is your baby and its her first litter.  But other than that, everything should be ok.  You might see her nipples waxing before long, this is a sign that birthing is not very far off. (maybe like 12 hours away), and if you take their tempatures, look for her temp to drop to 98.0  This means you will have puppies within hours. (give or take, some females are funny like that).
Otherwise, just wait and let her tell you, as she knows better than you do.
