Question
We have a 6 yr old white min. poodle named Rosie.(actually sweet Rosie O,Gradie) and she is a sweetie. She has 3 raised "pimples" on her back. I tried scratching one off but it grew back. The rest of her skin is fine and she is in good health and up to date with shots and grooming always. I make my own dog food with grnd beef, brn rice mixed veg and a little bit if chopped liver or kidney( cooked of course. Also she gets alittle dry kibble as well. She doesn,t scratch at them; am I worried for no reason? Also; although she loves the water, chases the hose until she is soaked, will not do her business outside in the am if its raining; even after her walk. She knows its bad, but is very sneaky about it so I never catch her in the act! Help!

Answer
Hello Dian,
Your worries about the "pimples" are in vain because skin growths like you described are common in Poodles.  Some people have them removed by a Vet, but they tend to grow back.  They are usually benign and don't cause harm.  Sometimes they do pop up in strange places, like around the eyes or mouth or around the genitals and people tend to have those removed (though they do grow back and they just have them removed again) but they don't usually cause any problems.

As to your girl not going when it rains, just bring her in after her walk and put her in her crate for 5 minutes, then take her back out.  Repete until she will go.  (you might want to give yourselves a bit more time in the morning if you know its going to rain)
Praise her and give her a treat when she will go in the rain for you.  This teaches her that its ok to potty in the rain.

I hope this helps you some.  If you have other questions for me, please feel free to ask.
