Poodle balding

Question
I received an email that the answer to my question was posted on this
site...but I can't find it. Anyways here it is again. thanks.
My 5 year old male standard poodle has very thin hair on the back of his skull
between the ears. This was always a very healthy mop of wavy hair, not curly
like
the front of his head. I have not seen him scratching. I did change kibble
about
6 months ago, from Nutro to ProPlan. No other issues but his scalp in that
area.
Any ideas...is there such a thing as Male Poodle Pattern Baldness?

Answer
Hello Susan,
I have never heard of a Poodle loosing hair around his skull area like you described before.  It could be due to the change of food, but being as I have never seen this, I am not sure.

You might contact your vet about it to see what they have to say.
You might also consider changing his food again to see if his hair will start to grow back in.

I hope this helps you some.  If you have other questions for me, please feel free to ask.
