Question
My poodle is 13 years old and I want to know how long do they usually live.

Answer
Hello Christine,
The life of a dog depends on their size, lifestyle, health, and activity levels, among other things.
On average, a smaller Poodle such as a Toy can live as long as 17+ years, a Miniature has around 13+ years and a Standard Poodle has around 10+ years.  Do know that these are just averages and that with proper care and health, Poodles have been known to live well past their expected life expectancy.  I had a Std Poodle that was about 15 when he had to be put to sleep (he had Bloat/Gastric Torsion and it was advised to have him put down rather than him going through surgery), and I knew of another Std Poodle that was still going strong at age 22.(though a larger dog living to this age is very rare)

I hope this helps you some.  If you have other questions about this, or other questions in general, please feel free to ask me.
