slipping feet

Question
Hi, and thanks for taking my question.  I have a 13 year old standard poodle, and she has been slipping on the hardwood floors of my house.  She's only done this since she's been older.  My vet didn't have any ideas on how to reduce the slipping, other than carpeting everything, which I won't do.  Keeping her pads trimmed well helps a bit.  I've tried putting hand lotion on her pads, and that didn't seem to help either.  Any ideas?  I'm afraid she'll hurt herself.

Answer
Hello Ruth,
They make doggie booties for older dogs that have trouble walking on hardwood floors.  They are fairly inexpensive and really help dogs with their traction.  You can find some at this website: http://www.seniorpetproducts.com/catalog/dog-shoes-c253.html?gclid=CLfWl5OFoJ8CF...

You can also give your dog a baby aspirin if you notice that your dog is in pain, and getting them a pad to sleep on will help sore joints or feet.

I hope this helps you some.  If you have other questions/comments/concerns for me, please feel free to ask.
