QuestionHi. I have recently married a woman with an absolutely adorable toy poodle, female, 10 YOA. She is regularly professionally groomed and is beautiful. I have noticed that every morning and evening, she very deliberately licks her paws and uses them to groom her face. I have never seen this behavior in a dog before, and I was just curious if this is something that is seen with poodles. She has been an "only dog" and had never been around cats, so I doubt it's a learned behavior. Thank you.
AnswerHello Scott,
I have actually seen other dogs grooming themselves like this before. I don't know if it has anything to do with dogs licking themsselves in general, or just a different way of grooming, but its not uncommon.
I hope this helps you some. If you have other questions for me, please feel free to ask.
