toy poodle cocking her leg when urinating

we have a lovley happy,lively,2 and a half year old female toy poodle.she has had one litter of three puppies,the previous owner still has two of them.she could not produce enough milk to feed them so they were bottle fed.she was spayed two weeks ago,has settled down,is very playful and affectionate.just one strange thing she cocks her leg when weeing.it seems she has done this for some time,we had a female minature poodle for 12 years but have never seen a lady poodle do this,we are just curious aboutwhy,any ideas,thank-you.

Hello Candy,
I have mostly male Poodles, and my mother has the females, but she does have several females that cock their leg when they pee.  I am not really sure why they do this (though I have heard of other people who's female dogs do this also, so its not just a Poodle thing).  
I have heard other people say that its because they were around male dogs and are mimicing them, I have also heard that they do this to try and mark a spot like a male would.
