Question
I just got a 5 month old standard poodle ( male) he seems to be on the small side 18" at the withers and 32 pounds, his mom was 24" and his dad 26", is there anyway he will be that tall since he is already 5 months old?

Answer
Hello Mike,
This is about average for a 5 month old Std Poodle.  Poodles tend to get their full height and weight around anywhere from 11 months to 1 1/2 yrs.  They will also go through a growth spurt around 7 months, where they get skinny and leggy for a short time.

I would guess that if your boy's parents were 24" and 26" at the shoulder, he will probably get around 25"-26", because males tend to be bigger than the females.

Give him time and if you have other questions or concerns about this, or other Poodle questions in general, please feel free to ask.
