Could you please tell me when male dogs become fertile?

Hello Alison,
Most male dogs start getting their sperm around 6-9 months of age.  With males, you don't have to wait until they are 2 to breed them.  You should, however, take him to the Vet to get a Health Check to make sure that he doesn't have anything that could be passed on to the puppies.  

You might also suggest that the female get tested also, so that she doesn't give your male anything that she could have.
