Toy Poodle hiding underneath furniture and behind other things as well.

Question
I am really concerned with my 6-year old toy poodle/Scottish terrier "Charlie". He has been acting very bi-polar the past month or so. One minute he is the happiest dog and the next he is hiding around the house all day "moody" when he acts this way it makes me worry if he is sick.  I have been to the vet twice concerned about him, and they keep on saying he is healthy.  He also has bumps that look like moles, which I hear are common with older poodles.  Should I take him to a different vet???

Answer
Hello CF,
You might take him to another Vet just to see what their opinion is on Charlies situation is and it might help put your mind at ease also.

You might try to get him to be more active to help him with his issues.  Maybe take him for a long walk in the evenings or when you get home from work, or take him out to the local Dog park to see if interacting with other dogs would help some.
You could also enroll him in an Obedience class so that him and you can learn some new behaviors and that will also give you something fun to do.
If he is a toy dog, (that is, one who loves to play or chase toys), to this often to help him get rid of any pent up energy.

See if this helps you and him some.  If not, let me know and I will think of some other suggestions for you and Charlie.
