gagging throwing up, smelly miniature poodle}

QUESTION:  I love your site!!!I recently was giving a min. black poodle and for the first day or two she wouldnt eat, I started using wet dogfood with her dry food and she is eating now, but I have notice that every now and then she gags and throws up out of the blues, she is totally trained . what could that be? I also bathed her with skunk odor removal and then using a propet 4 in one shampoo, but it the good scent doesnt last long on her,can you please help with this. thank you.

ANSWER: Hello Raquel,
One thing you can try with your dog to help her not throw up as much, and to help keep her eating her food is to try this recipe.

1 lb Hamburger, Lamb, or Turkey Burger
1 can Sardines in Olive Oil
1 cup Spinach, blended with the Oil of the Sardines
1 egg scrambled
1 1/2 cup Special K or Total Cereal
1 Apple Blended (or you can use 1/2 cup of Applesauce)
1/8 tsp Garlic powder
1 grated carrot
1/2 cup brown rice, cooked using broth (either a meat or Veggie variety) for better flavor
1/2 cup Cottage Cheese (optional)

This recipe is for a large dog, so you may want to half it, or you can make it up and freeze part of it.  It will keep good in a sealed container in the refrigarator for about a week.
I would put about 2 tablespoons on her food everyday.  It has vitamins and minerals in it that will help her skin and coat, and may help with her odor also.  

Do not bathe her more than once a week or so as it will dry her coat out and may cause her to smell because of her dry skin.  
Instead try to find a good Oatmeal shampoo and also use a good conditioner.  They have good perfumes for dogs to help them smell good between baths.  The skunk treatment is harsh on the coat and is only for removing the skunk smell.  It doesn't really leave a clean smell on the dog.

QUESTION: Thanks for your response, now also can you please tell me if it is normal that my dog make a sound of a pig sometimes and throws up , could it be that because she always is liking herself and since she has alot of hair some stay stuck in her throat,its just too good to be true that my baby poodle is totally trained , listen and well behave for someone to just have let her go so easily. I have no papers on her and have no idea if she has been given any shots. planning to bring her to the vet as soon as I can for check up.

The sound that your dog is making when she vomits isn't abnormal, but the fact that she is vomiting so frequently is abnormal.  When you take her to the Vet for her shots, mention that she vomits as frequently as she does.  
She could have worms that are making her vomit, or something (like hair, etc) that is irritating her throat.  
To help with her licking her hair so much, give her a good brushing twice a week.  That way, she won't ingest the hair that could be making her vomit.
