Breeding a 12 year old

Question
I have a twelve year old toy poodle who has never been bred by my choice.  She still comes into heat.  I have a breeder asking if I would let her have pups, but I am afraid she is to old.

I wouldn't breed your dog at this age hun. In her years she is practically a pensioner and giving birth or carrying puppies may put a strain on her Heart and her physical health.

You have made the right decision by thinking this through carefully. A breeder who wants to breed a dog who is 12 years old is one I would stay clear off.

She is in her twilight years now and needs to take it easy.
