Answer
Hello Mike,
Sorry it took so long to get back to you.

Anytime a dog bites anyone, whether its a child or an adult, its a serious offence and needs to be dealt with.  If your dog is biting you then he thinks he is the Alpha and that you need to listen to him.  To correct this and re-estabolish your Dominance over him, you are going to need to show him YOU are boss over him.
The best way to do this is to make him submit to you by making him lay down on his side with his head on the floor and keep holding him in that position until he will relax and lay still without you holding him down.  Then you can make him stay there until you feel he is ready to get up.  When you are ready to let him up, don't say anything to him, just walk away from him and let him get up on his own.  This shows him that you are boss and can make him submit to you in a sub non-threatening way.
IF HE TRIES TO BITE YOU, GROWL OR SHOW ANY OTHER TYPE OF AGGRESSION, YOU HAVE TO STAND YOUR GROUND AND NOT LET HIM KNOW HE HAS GOTTEN TO YOU OR THAT YOU ARE AFRAIF OF HIM!!  If he thinks that you are afraid of him biting you or that he has gotten to you, then you LOSE and he will go on continuing to bite you, your daughter or anyone else that he thinks is trying to control him.  If you think that he is going to try to bite you and you are nervous about it, wear something on your hand for the first few times.
Make him submit to you in this way whenever he wants to get bitey with you or your daughter.

You might also consider putting him through his paces by taking him through an Obedience class.  It will help calm him down and will give him an Out for his excessive energy.  Check your local YellowPages for Obedience trainers in your area.

Give this a try and if you are still having issues with him about biting or any other problems, Please let me know.
