Question
i have a toy poodle that was given to me. she had puppies on Christmas wen is a good time to give the puppies ways? people tell me at 3 months but i don't know???

Answer
Hello Maricela,
Its best to wait at least 8 weeks to place the puppies in new homes.  Before that time, they are learning to be dogs from their mother.  She will teach them manners and introduce them to things that they might not see otherwise.  At 7 weeks they need to be exposed to to as much as they can (such as loud noises, like the vaccuum or dishwasher; or strange objects like trash bags, houseplants, bikes or anything else that might scare them in the future)

They will usually nurse from mom until 4-5 weeks old, then they start getting teeth and mother will usually wean them because those teeth hurt.  After they are off mom, you need to start them on a puppy mash.  The best thing you can feed them is canned Iams Puppy Food and canned Puppy Formula (the liquid kind works best).  For a Toy puppy, I would use about a Tablespoon per puppy, and about a Teaspoon of Formula per puppy.  I would feed each puppy by itself for the first few times.  The first time you feed them, put their face down in the mash and just get it on their nose.  They will lick their nose off and start lapping up their food.  After about 2 weeks on this diet, you can start using dry puppy food that is soaked in a bit of water and the remainder of the formula if there is any; you can also add a teaspoon of cottage cheese every other day with their food.
I would feed them about a 1/4 cup of food per meal.  For these puppies, I would feed them 3 times a day, then they should go to 2 times a day when they are 6 months old.

I hope this helps you some.  If you have other questions for me, please feel free to ask.
