QuestionI just got a new standard poodle pup over the weekend. Prior to going to get him, I was told he was a blue poodle. When I got there, he was very shaggy (nine months old) and his outer coat looked to be more of a soft brown, his face looked creamy... I thought perhaps Cafe Au Lait. But, his eye rims/lips/nose are black...and after I clipped him, His body looks to be more of a greyish/brown, face is silvery, almost white. His feet have greyish brown...Head is more brown, but turning more of a silver in the front. If he were silver, there wouldn't be brown right? I want to know what to call him, as people are constantly asking me, as he is very striking! I can send pics if you need to see those to figure it out. Thanks! Darcy
AnswerYour question is way past me. Here is a site that you should enjoy even if it doesn't help, http://www.vipoodle.org/ http://www.jagerslatijn.nl/jagerslatijn/poodle.htm too. And here is a picture I took at a meeting of people raising puppies for a dog guide school. Poodles are prized as service dogs because of their low dander. People with dog allergies can still have a service dog.

When I registered as a Poodle expert, there wasn't anybody else. I figured I am better than nobody. In my dog guide work I do see a few.
