diahrrea in puppy

Question
My 4 month old silky-poo which I have had for 2 days has diahrrea and now when he tries to go it is just a mucousy white with a little blood.  He hasn't eaten anything for a about 12 hours.  The last thing he ate was a pig ear.  He ate normally yesterday and I did give him about 3 puppy treats throughout the day for good behavior.  He hasn't eaten or drank anything since last night.  It's Sunday and the vet clinic is closed. He does not go outside and his food is Science Diet.  We did have company last nite and they really played with him alot.  Could it be that he was just over stimulated?  He did sleep well last night.  He sleeps through the night.

Answer
Dogs can swallow too big of a piece of most of the consumable treats including pig ears, rawhide, Greenies, etc.  Since he didn't choke, you should be OK until the vet opens Monday.  Unless he is back to normal, get him to the vet.

Then stick to sturdy stuff such as Nylabones and Kongs.  Many smaller dogs are not the chewing problem many of the bigger ones are.
