1 yr old male chewing everything

Question
I have a male toy poodle who just turned 1 year...I can not leave him alone...I have to crate him everytime we leave the housel..because he chews my cords, anything left out..and when we leave absolutely nothing out to chew..he chews up the rug. He also gets things and takes them out the doggy door and puts them in a pile and chews them up. What can I do? He cant stay in that crate forever.

Some dogs give up their chewing by 2-3 years old.  For now, I would continue to crate him.  I do hope you aren't leaving him more than 4-5 hours.  If so, try to find a neighbor or professional dog walker to give him a mid day break.  Doggy day care is a great idea too.
