Question
someone gave us a 7 year old poodle, male.  He was so sweet at their house and in the car and immediately upon entering the house became viscious.  He has a crate and stays in it and barks and growls and if you come near it he will bite hard, bringing blood.  When he is out of the crate he is better, more friendly, but will turn and bite for no reason.  Split personality!!  Help!! I hate this dog!  The kids love him though.  Why I don't know.  Thanks!

Answer
Sabra,
It seems to me this dog is tell you LOUD AND CLEAR that he isn't happy with his life change.  He may NEVER be.  There are a ton of dogs out there that need homes that will adjust fine.  I would suggest to you - please don't take the chance that one of your kids gets bit serious.  Easily a face can be scared for life.  Take the dog back to where you got him from and find your family another pet that they can actually LOVE without being bitten.

Good Luck
Brandie
