poodle brain & body growth after neuter

Hi,
I just found out after neutering my standard poodle puppy at 6months+ that this was not a good thing for his growth plates...that they will take much longer to close and that neutering may also affect his brain development.  Is this true and if so what can I do to help prevent potential problems.

This is a first for me - I've never heard this one.  I don't think that neutering will affect his brain devolpment other then in a positive way - and I also don't think it can affect his growth plates and cause anything other then for him to have his mind of feed and not on girls.  I wouldn't worry, I think you have certainly done the right thing.
