swollen eye

My poodle's eye is swollen and red, and he keeps on wanting to rub it, do you have any idea what it could be?

It could be many things - he could have accidently scratched it with his paw, he could have gotten a bacterial infection somehow, or just some sort of foreign particle in it.

Eyes, with mucous membranes and such, are nothing to mess with, though. I'd call a vet and get your pet in to be checked.  I wish you luck with your pet's diagnosis.

I'm sorry it took so long to get back to you - my computer crashed and I didn't get it back until today.
