urinating and defacating in the house

Question
My poodle has never been completely house trained. She does pretty good when we are at home. We keep her in a crate at  night because she will use the bathroom in the house during the night if we don't and when we are away at work we keep her in her crate because of the same reason. She does not mess up her create but when we get home she will get so excited she will urinate an sprinkle all over the place and lately when we  have company she will defecate in the house. She will start running and strow it from one end to the next. We are at our wits end trying to figure out how to correct this.
Could you please give suggestions.

When you get home, try picking her up and carrying her outside.  Usually them won't urinate while being carried.

Try taking her out and walking her around before you expect company.  If you walk until she has a bowel movement, she may be Ok whne company comes.
