Execising a toy poodle

Question
Hi i curerntly own two dogs who can on occasion get up to 3 hours on a walk. We are currently considering a third dog but a smaller one. We have been looking at the toy poodle and so far have been impressed with the research we have been doing. Our only worryis the exercise mainly would the Toy Poodle be up to a 3 hour walk.

Answer
Hello Tim,
The Poodle is known for their boundless energy, so for most dogs a 3 hour walk is nothing.
When you get your dog, I would start out by going easy and build your way up to a 3 hr walk.  Start off with a 30 minute walk and see how he/she does.  If your dog seems fine with 30 minutes, add 10-20 minutes a walk and see how they take it.
If your dog needs a break, rest a bit then continue.
Gradually keep adding distance until your dog can go the whole 3 hours.

You can also build up stamina by playing fetch or by going for a nice long run (maybe 30 minutes or so)

Hope this helps you some and if you have other questions for me, please ask.
