Puppy Digestive Problems

Question
Yes the vet ran a fecal on the 30th of January, all was fine, no parasites.  He has had all of his worm shots and in December they gave him a pill to prevent worms.  Last evening the diahrrea was still present but the color was a normal brown.  He has ate very well, actually better than he has ever eaten.  He has been vaccinated for everything.  I will call the vet today and see what they say.  Thank you!

-----Question-----
I have a 7 month old toy poodle and on and off he has various digestive problems.  Sometimes he will wake up in the morning with a gurgling belly and won't eat that day, usually it subsides in the evening and he eats fine...that comes and goes and the doctor said he was having bouts of indigestion and put me on a boiled hamburger and rice diet--which Brownie (puppy) loves!  He also has had varying degrees of diahrrea, including today when I went home and it was a green color; to my knowledge he has ate nothing green aside from chewing on a nylabone..it was the consistency of liquid medicine--not watery thin.  He acts fine, ate fine; this is the first time he has had this type of diahrrea, normally if he has it it is a mucousy pink color, which the vet says is fine.  He acts fine and isn't lathargic or running a fever.  Just trying to figure out the reasons for the diahrrea.  Thanks!

Have you actually had a fecal ran?  this is NOT normal.  SOunds to me like he could have worms of one kind or another.  It could be something even more serious.  Green colored fecal sounds like their is a problem with the liver.  I would get the dog back into the vet ASAP and have some tests run.  This is NOT normal at all and needs to be taken care of.  I am not a vet so I can not diagnose this problem for you.  If your vet wont run any tests and keeps telling you he is ok then find another vet that will look at him.  He is not fine.  You need to find the cause of this immediately.  Sorry I can not help you more.  This needs a licensed vet to diagnose.

Answer
Just cause a fecal is clear dosnt mean he may not have a tape worm unfortunately.  But I still worry that it could possibly be something wrong with the liver or perhaps something worse.  Best to get him in and see if they can give you any other ideas.  Glad the color has returned to normal.
Wormings are not given in shots.  The shots he received were his boosters for parvo and distmepter and such.  Wormer is a liquid.  The pill is probably for heartworm if its the one you give monthly.
Good luck.  I sure hope they can help you.  Be sure that when you get him onto regular dog food that you stick with something that will be genetle on his system.  Get a food with no corn, no wheat, and no chicken.  A lamb and rice or beef and rice food would be good for him.
